How often do you pause, turn your mind’s eye inwards,
and listen to the gentle callings of your heart?
The last few weeks I have been on a conscious sabbatical from the blog and business as my heart was begging me to stop. I felt I couldn’t because of the dire situation I was in, needing to find a new place to live and with a car in desperate need of repair. But I was going about things the wrong way, and if there’s one thing I have learnt from my past, it is to never ignore those callings from your heart. It’s these moments when I am super grateful for my meditation and yoga practice for that is when the heart speaks loudest as my mind is at its quietest.
Sure at the time it was hard to end a 30 day challenge early, but there was no ignoring the pull at my heart. I had to stop, regroup and reconnect. And of course it is always the right decision, for when I follow my heart the stars align and things start to fall into place.
The beautiful thing was that it gave me some breathing space, the time needed to pause and ponder on what in my heart I know I want to create in my future and you can’t really do this without looking back at the same time.
Last year was one hell of a tumultuous time for me, so many good and not so good things happened, that it will always be a year I look back on with mixed emotions. But what surprises me most about 2013 is that each time I acted on my heart’s calling I was being led down the “entrepreneurs” path.
Funnily with all the ventures I have undertaken in my life, from selling worms to the year 6 teacher for the school yabbies, to looking into starting a fashion design label and running a yoga teaching business since 2009,
I have never thought of myself as an entrepreneur.
That is, not until B-School.
As fate would have it, in 3 short months, the stars aligned to get me on the B-school path. It seemed to start with one inspired thought to run a 31 day challenge for my yoga students during the holidays. You know it’s meant to be when 65 people sign up within a month and it led me to discovering the world of entrepreneurial bloggers. Then I drawn to sign up with a business coach with whom I first coined the term Pocket Yogini and bought the domain name without even knowing what I would do with it, all I knew was that my heart told me to do it. Plus I was gifted a free ticket to a weekend where I got to meet 150 other female entrepreneurs in the healing industry. My eyes were being opened up to a whole new world of possibilities and opportunities.
When 6 business women, I just happened to come across and admire for what they do, start speaking about Marie Forleo’s B-School and how much they believe in it all at the same time, I had to stop and take notice. The pull in me was huge. The only other time I had felt such a strong pull was when I discovered the yoga school where I eventually did my yoga teacher training. At the time I had no plans to be a teacher, I was doing it for me, but despite the huge cost, I knew I had to do it and that everything else would work out.
This was the feeling I had with B-School.
I signed up for Marie’s free prelaunch videos and these alone created a huge swell of inspiration in me and strengthened the knowing in me that this had come into my life now for a reason and I had to do it, I had to make it happen.
I was not disappointed and it was so much more than was promised.
B-School is a launching pad for anyone with a business or business dream who wants a clear road map step by step guide to leveraging your business online successfully to make money and make a difference in the world. Marie Forleo is an amazing teacher in this field. She’s passionate about what she does and it shows in the amount of content she delivers not only in B-school but through her free weekly MarieTV shows, and these launch videos which are out now. And in her first video today she gives you the info you need to know to start and grow your business online for free!!
The biggest thing I received from B-School though was not just the content. It was the community of like minded souls that I have connected with. Beautiful souls on the same path to living their dreams and making a difference in the world doing it. Generous souls who understand your fears, your challenges and offer you support, advice, friendship and who are always there to celebrate each others successes.
This is where B-School changed my life.
To be totally honest with you I didn’t manage to implement as much of the content from the course as I would have liked due the huge upheaval I experienced last year. (This is where the lifetime access comes in handy as I’ll be going over it all again and I’m sure many times over the life of my business). But it was during those difficult times that this group of new friends I’ve made rallied around me, understood my challenges, shared their best advice, inspired and encouraged me to continue and supported my dream. It was their “hells yeah” that led to me rebanding my business, so Pocket Yogini was born and my new website was created. And when my heart said yes to running my first one day retreat it was their cheers that said “do it” and helped me celebrate when it sold out.
Finding this group of like minded souls was the gift of 2013.
I know I would not still be living my business dream if it hadn’t been for B-School.
