YOGA : IN THESE CLASSES
With extensive training in Gita Style Yoga and Yin Yoga, Natasha shares with you the benefits and key principals of both of these practices in her classes.
Over the course of 1hour, you can expect to do a combination of limbering, yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation with a focus on calming the nervous system and mind, balancing the body inside and out and relaxing the heart. Poses are chosen that work on both the physical hormonal system and energetic meridians of the body. These systems affect everything from metabolism, digestion, ageing, to how we feel, what we think and our sense of wellbeing, and the hormones are also linked to the chakras {energy body}.
Hence, Natasha's classes aim to create change on every level - mind, body and soul.
It is a beautiful practice for ANY body and EVERY day as it is easily varied to be gentle or dynamic.

MORE ABOUT GITA STYLE YOGA
Gita Style Yoga is an empowering practice that shares with us information and tools we can use in our every day lives to affect change.
With a history spanning over 60 years in Australia, this ancient practice from the Himalayas was brought to Australia with the knowledge it would be greatly needed in the 21st century. And how true this has been proven...
WHY?
It's unique sequence of postures targets the entire body,
de-stressing, relaxing and balancing it inside and out.
Gita-Style Yoga is a holistic practice, combining the 8 limbs of yoga - postures, breath, concentration, relaxation, meditation and it's principles.
Every system of the body is renewed and revitalised with a particular focus on balancing the endocrine (hormone) system.
These glands and hormones, also correlating with the chakra system of the body, regulate every function of the body, from what we think, how we age, our digestive functioning and more. So when our glands, hormones and chakras are balanced, life flows smoother inside and out!
Gita Style Yoga shares the traditional wisdom and distilled knowledge of yoga which is now being supported by modern day scientific research.
Hence, it is a practice that connects you with empowering knowledge you can use in everyday life.
On top of the well known benefits of yoga, this practice will leave you feeling balanced and revitalized with an overall greater sense of wellbeing.

MORE ABOUT YIN YOGA
Whilst Gita yoga and other forms of Hatha yoga are considered a more yang or active practice, Yin yoga is a practice of stillness.
Yang practices focus more on the muscles whilst yin focuses more on passive stretching of the connective tissue that is within the muscles and throughout the body.
And whilst traditional hatha yoga classes speak of the movement of prana (energy), yin speaks more of the movement of Qi (energy) along the Chinese Medicine Meridians as there is research to support the theory that they follow the water channels of the tissues.
To positively influence the health of the tissues more time and space is needed, which is not the case for the muscles of the body. Hence, yin poses are held for around 3 - 5mins with the support of props such as blocks, bolsters, straps and blankets to enable practitioners to relax into the stretches which the tissues also require.
In this way, yin compliments a yang practice, assisting with the overall balancing of the body and flow of energy and aims to balance the busyness of our modern lives with a practice that focuses on embodying stillness and embracing silence.
